Endodontics (root canal treatment)
Treating inflammation in the tooth root
Cavity-causing bacteria can do more than just destroy the enamel on the surface of the tooth. If bacteria penetrate deep into the tooth, the dental nerve usually becomes inflamed.
This is often evident in the form of increased tooth sensitivity to temperature. To treat this inflammation and prevent the tooth from dying, modern root canal therapy is necessary, during which the tooth’s nerve is removed. This procedure not only saves the tooth but, in many cases, also helps avoid complex prosthetic and surgical procedures.
Our treatment: modern and pain-free
To ensure that your root canal treatment proceeds smoothly and painlessly, you will first receive a local anesthetic. Once the root canal has been exposed, the inflamed nerve tissue is removed, the canal is cleaned and disinfected, and then filled with a special material. In some cases, it may also be necessary to fit the tooth with a crown or partial crown to ensure its long-term stability. Depending on the severity of the condition, multiple appointments may be required for root canal treatment.
Root canal treatment is usually covered by your health insurance. To significantly improve the chances of success for root canal treatment, you can also opt for a method that utilizes the latest technology and additional specialized techniques.
We would be happy to advise you on success rates and explain how statutory health insurance plans cover the costs.
